In Elizabeth Cranes "I want" story, she bases her rhythm on ideas. In football there are both ideal thoughts that she has on the future, as well as realistic thoughts that may happen in the future. I find it a bit funny on how she expresses these realistic thoughts, for most people would not say "I want". In other words they would say i hope this is not to happen in the future. Slowing down and the speeding up to me are based on the situations that are being red. When something drastic happens the speaker learns to slow down. As to where the the speeeding up takes place is kinda a bit like a dream. Your more idealistic point of view on life and how it should be. In a dream something goes by so fast your can barely remember all that you saw while it was running through your mind.
